Harry Potter/Sg-1 crossover...

Somewhere from up on high.
Boss stared at the message that Operator had sent to him.

"Again?" He muttered.

"What this time?" A familiar voice spoke from behind him, making him jump a little bit. "Surely not Spyridon and-"

"No, no. It's that insufferable agent of ours."

"Which one? Dennis? Carmichael?"

"No. Cantright."

"What's he done, 'again'?"

Boss was fuming somewhat. "He's inspired another person to start fanfic!"

The person was confused, and made it known, "I thought that was one of his on going objectives, get people to-"

"It's Harry Potter/Stargate Crossover fanfic!" Boss interrupted.

The person froze. a small smile slowly blossomed, but then noting the unhappy look on Boss' face, covered it up. "So he's doing his job, and..."

Boss sighed. "I just dislike what so many authors have attempted to do with that particular crossover. Merlin the wizard and Myrrdin, for instance, being one and the same. Wizards being descendants of the ancients! BAH!"

"Aren't you taking this a little too seriously?"

Boss frowned harder. "Yes. I just... it's a little personal pet peeve."

"Fine. Whatever. How's our writers' operation Divergence going?"

The distraction worked, and Boss smiled...

On Earth
Agent Cantright finished typing his post, copying and pasting in a link before submitting the post...

Um, Alex, Merlin and Myrddin (not Myrrdin) are one in the same, and it has nothing to do with Harry Potter. Actually, that isn't quite true. What I should say is that Merlin Ambrosius was based upon one or more men named Myrddin and a boy named Ambrosius mentioned in 'Historia Brittonum'. This was done by the Arthurian legend's creator, Geoffrey of Monmouth, way back in the 12th century, a very long time before the creation of Harry Potter.

Dr. Markov: If you're implying that everything Russian-made is poor quality, actually the sub is Swiss.
Daniel: So they occasionally catch fire, but they keep perfect time? Sorry. I think I've been hanging around Jack O'Neill too much.

No, it was the 'Merlin the wizard from Harry Potter' and 'Myrddin, the Ancient who inspired those legends' being one-and-the-same in the HP/SG-1 crossovers. THAT is what I referred to.

Ah. I didn't know that there was a wizard named Merlin in the Harry Potter stories. I never read the books. I only saw the movies (except for the most recent one). I don't recall there being a wizard named Merlin in the movies. Perhaps I just didn't catch it.

Merlins' beard is like Holy sh*t.

i.e. curses and so forth. we say, "JESUS!" in shock, same with Merlin.. I mean, Ron says it a lot in the films.
